بدأت وكالة الفضاء الإيرانية العمل على تصميم قمرين صناعيين جديدين وهما Pars-2 و Pars-3 .
أفادت بذلك وكالة Tashim الإيرانية نقلا عن رئيس الوكالة حسن سلاري. وقال سلاري إن هذين القمرين يخصصان لاستشعار الأرض عن بعد.

يذكر أن الأخصائيين الإيرانيين سبق لهم أن كشفوا عن نموذجيْن للقمريْن الصناعيين الجديدين Nahid-2 وTolo-3 حيث يعتبر Nahid-2 قمرا للاتصالات، وسيبلغ عمره عامين، وسيتم إطلاقه إلى ارتفاع 500 كيلومتر، أما Nahid-2 فسيصبح أكبر وأثقل قمر صناعي تم إنشاؤه في إيران. وسيزيد وزنه عن 100 كيلوغرام.
يذكر أن إيران بدأت في تحقيق برنامجها الفضائي عام 2004 ، وهي من بين دول العالم التسع التي تنتج الأقمار الصناعية إلى جانب روسيا والولايات المتحدة. وانضمت إيران إلى لجنة الأمم المتحدة الخاصة باستخدام الفضاء الكوني لأغراض سلمية والتي تم تشكيلها عام 1959.
