أعلن المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية السويسرية بيير آلان إلشينغر أن مشاركة روسيا في مؤتمر التسوية السلمية للنزاع في أوكرانيا، والذي سيبدأ في سويسرا، ضرورية لتحقيق السلام الدائم.
وقال إلشينغر: “يجب أن يضع المؤتمر الأساس لعملية السلام. لقد أعلنت روسيا أكثر من مرة، أنها غير مهتمة بالمشاركة في هذا الاجتماع الأول. وبالنسبة لسويسرا، من الواضح أن السلام الدائم يتطلب مشاركة روسيا”.
وأشار إلى أن وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف كان أول وزير خارجية التقى به وزير الخارجية السويسري إغنازيو كاسيس في وقت سابق من هذا العام في نيويورك بشأن عقد المؤتمر.
وأضاف: “في ذلك الاجتماع، صرح الوزير كاسيس بأن سويسرا ترغب في مناقشة جميع وجهات النظر الممكنة بشأن الحل السلمي وجميع مبادرات السلام القائمة”.
وتستضيف سويسرا مؤتمرا للسلام في أوكرانيا يومي 15 و16 يونيو المقبل قرب مدينة لوتسيرن.
وذكرت الرئيسة السويسرية فيولا أمهيرد في وقت سابق، أن رئيس أوكرانيا فلاديمير زيلينسكي طلب منها تنظيم قمة سلام بشأن أوكرانيا.
