أكد وزير الدفاع الروسي سيرغي شويغو، أن مهمة الولايات المتحدة وحلف شمال الأطلسي لـ “ناتو” في أفغانستان “فشلت”، مشيرا إلى أن الوضع في البلاد يتدهور بسرعة ويخرج عمليا عن سيطرة السلطات المحلية.
وقال شويغو في اجتماع وزراء دفاع دول “منظمة شنغهاي للتعاون”، “إن التطورات في مناطق الحدود الشمالية للبلاد والنزوح الجماعي للأفغان إلى طاجيكستان وأوزبكستان يظهران أن الاتفاقات بين الولايات المتحدة وحركة (طالبان) الإسلامية – المحظورة في روسيا الاتحادية – لم يتم تنفيذها”.
وبحسب الوزير الروسي، فإن الوضع في أفغانستان “يتدهور بسرعة وخرج عملياً عن سيطرة السلطات، وأن طالبان تسيطر بالفعل على معظم الأراضي”.
وأضاف سيرغي شويغو أن “ما يثير القلق بشكل خاص هو تعزيز مواقع (داعش) – المُسمّى السابق لتنظيم الدولة الإسلامية الإرهابي، المحظور في روسيا الاتحادية – والمنظمات الإرهابية الدولية الأخرى، مما أدى إلى زيادة خطر تغلغلها في البلدان المجاورة. وبالتالي، فإننا مضطرون إلى التصريح بأن مهمة الولايات المتحدة وحلف شمال الأطلسي في أفغانستان قد فشلت”.
يشار وزير الدفاع الروسي كان قد أفاد في وقت سابق بأن القاعدة 201 الروسية ستقدم مساعدة عسكرية لجمهورية طاجيكستان، في حال تعرض أمن الجمهورية للتهديد على خلفية تطورات الأحداث في أفغانستان المجاورة.
