دعا وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي لافروف واشنطن وحلفاءها الغربيين إلى العودة لوعيهم واتخاذ خطوات جادة لإحياء الاتفاق النووي مع إيران، واصفا محاولاتهم لتقويضه بالخطأ الكبير.
وقال لافروف في مؤتمر صحفي مشترك مع نظيره المصري سامح شكري، “نحن نعبر عن قلقنا بشأن الهجمات على إيران، ونعتقد أن ذلك خطأ كبير من قبل الغرب. لقد اتخذ الأعضاء في الصفقة النووية هدفا لتقويض هذه الصفقة التي صادق عليها مجلس الأمن الدولي بالإجماع. حينما خرجت الولايات المتحدة بشكل أحادي من الصفقة، مطالبة إيران، في الوقت نفسه بتنفيذ التزاماتها.وأضاف:” نود أن نعيد الولايات المتحدة إلى وعيها، لاتخاذ محاولات واضحة وجادة لإعادة إحياء هذه الصفقة، إلا أن الغرب بدأ باتخاذ خطوات غير عقلانية”.وتابع: “لقد تعرضت المؤسسات النووية الإيرانية لتفتيش صارم من وكالة الطاقة الذرية، ونفت أي استخدامات غير سلمية للطاقة النووية”.وذكر أن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي أنتوني بلينكن أعلن أن واشنطن تدرس حاليا صيغا عسكرية لـ “منع إيران من امتلاك الأسلحة النووية”.وأوضح: “إذا كانوا يريدون جعل هذا الهدف رئيسيا بالنسبة لهم، فلا داعي للطرق على باب مفتوح. فقد أصدرت القيادة الدينية الإيرانية منذ فترة طويلة فتوى تحظر تطوير الأسلحة النووية”.وتابع: “تدل أعمال الدول الغربية على شيء واحد فقط وهو أنها تفضل – كما فعلت فيما يتعلق باتفاقيات مينسك بشأن التسوية الأوكرانية – تجاهل قرارات مجلس الأمن الدولي وتفضل الانتقال إلى الأعمال العدوانية بما في ذلك استخدام القوة العسكرية بدلا من تنفيذ قرارات أعلى هيئة في الأمم المتحدة”.
