وأشار أحد المسؤولين الأمريكيين إلى أن قذيفة عنقودية واحدة قادرة على إصابة مساحة أكبر بخمسة أضعاف بالمقارنة مع القذيفة العادية.
وكانت نائبة مساعد وزير الدفاع الأمريكي، لورا كوبر، قد صرح في وقت سابق بأن “محللينا العسكريين أكدوا أن قذائف DPICM العنقودية ستكون مفيدة، وخصوصا ضد المواقع الروسية المحصنة في الميدان”.
